History

“The name ‘Bomitali’ sits very close to our boys’ hearts. The quality, honesty and service we provide is in honour of the name, and those before us,” Alex Bomitali.

The tradition of Bomitali craftsmanship goes back as far as the name itself, to the roots of our family in Italy. Today we are multi-generational builders in Ballarat, with creativity in our blood.

Over the years, each of the Bomitalis have passed on a commitment and passion for building or designing quality products. Carpentry, art, furniture making, construction: it’s always inspired us. It’s what we’re born to do.

In 1952 craftsman/builder Narciso Pacifico Bomitali migrated to Swan Hill, where he built homes for many of his fellow countrymen.

In 1973 he moved to Ballarat and successfully turned his hand to restoration at CV Jones Antiques in Armstrong St (now The Forge Pizzeria).

Narciso’s grandson, Michael Bomitali, founded Bomitali Constructions in Ballarat in 2007. Michael’s brother, Alex, soon joined him in partnership and the rest, as they say, is history.

In 2020, Michael and Alex run a small, handpicked team of quality tradesmen bonded by a common ethos: work like every job’s your last, believe all projects deserve equal (no matter how big or small), and treat others with respect.

That’s why you can be sure we’ll never handle you like a number, never take shortcuts with the quality of our work and why you’ll find us working on some of Ballarat’s most unique and exciting projects.

And where does most of our work come from? Word of mouth, from one satisfied homebuilder to the next.
